# eSIM plans with a phone number, calls and SMS

DualLine offers mobile eSIM packages with calls and texts alongside data-only plans. Choose a package that explicitly includes a phone number and the SMS/call capabilities you need. For WhatsApp registration, check that the number can receive the verification method used and that its active-service terms fit future access.

## Read the package capabilities

1. Mobile data

Coverage, allowance, validity and any fair-use terms.
2. Phone number

The number's country and the period of active service.
3. Calls and SMS

Included allowances and the incoming/outgoing methods supported.

An internet allowance does not automatically include a phone number or incoming verification messages.

## Data-only and number plans serve different needs

A data-only travel eSIM supplies mobile internet for maps, browsers and existing messaging accounts. It does not supply carrier SMS or voice merely because it is installed in the phone.

A number-bearing mobile eSIM package can combine connectivity with carrier calls and messages. Read the actual number, included allowances and permitted use for that package.

Compare eSIM plan types

| Capability | Data-only package | Number/SMS/call package |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Mobile internet | Included data allowance | As stated in the package |
| Carrier phone number | Not assumed | Explicitly included number |
| Carrier calls and SMS | Not included | Included methods and allowances vary |
| Existing WhatsApp over internet | Uses the data connection | Uses the data connection |
| New WhatsApp verification | Needs a separate suitable number | Needs the required incoming SMS/call capability |

## Where eSIM plans with calls and SMS are available

Plans with calls and SMS are available for 4 destinations, from $5.46. Every other destination has data-only plans.

Allowances differ by plan: some include a set number of minutes and messages, others unlimited calls and texts. Where calls and texts can go is in the plan details at checkout.

## Calls and SMS on an eSIM, or a DualLine second line?

A travel eSIM with calls and SMS is a prepaid plan for a trip: its allowances and validity end with the plan.

A DualLine second line is a separate subscription in the DualLine app: a dedicated number from United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for personal, non-commercial communication. It is separate from your travel data plan and is sold only in the app through App Store or Google Play billing.

Travel eSIM with calls and SMS compared with a DualLine second line

| Question | Travel eSIM with calls and SMS | DualLine second line |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it is | A prepaid travel plan with data, calls and SMS | A separate number in the DualLine app |
| Where to buy | The DualLine website, and the app once it is publicly available | Only the DualLine app (App Store or Google Play) |
| Payment | One-time, for the plan’s validity | Subscription through the app store |
| Countries | 4 destinations | United States, Canada and Puerto Rico |

## Check incoming communication for registration

For a new WhatsApp account, use a number allocated to you that can receive the required registration code. Incoming SMS and incoming calls are capabilities to check, not conclusions to draw from a generic plan label.

Review the number's country and match it correctly in the account setup. A package that includes outgoing calls alone does not establish that the required incoming verification method is available.

## Choose duration and continued service

Compare package validity, when that validity starts and any renewal or top-up option. A one-time purchase does not imply permanent ownership or indefinite number availability.

If later verification is important, keep suitable active service and read the continuation terms. Buying a temporary OTP code is an alternative for a single attempt, with different access conditions.

## Install and set your phone preferences

Install the delivered eSIM using its supplied method. Choose which line should provide mobile data and which line should handle carrier calls and messages.

A WhatsApp app call uses internet data; a carrier call uses the phone line's voice capability. Knowing which app or dialler you are using helps match usage to the right allowance.

## Keep the product choices clear

The mobile eSIM number, personal second-line subscription and one-time OTP product are separate choices in DualLine. Each has its own payment, access and capability conditions.

Choose by the job: internet for an existing account, one code, or an active mobile number with the required carrier communication.

## Your take-away checklist

- Confirm an included phone number.
- Read data, voice and SMS allowances.
- Check incoming verification capability.
- Check number country and covered destinations separately.
- Read activation, duration and continuation terms.
- Choose phone line preferences deliberately.

## Common questions

Does every travel eSIM include a number?

No. Select a package that explicitly includes a number and the required voice/SMS capabilities.

Can a mobile eSIM number be used for WhatsApp registration?

Use a suitable allocated number with the incoming SMS or supported call capability needed for the registration method.

Is the phone-number country the coverage list?

They are different properties. Read the number's country and the package's covered destinations separately.

Are calls unlimited?

Use the actual included allowance and conditions of the selected package; no universal call allowance is assumed.

Can I receive another verification later?

That depends on continued access to the active number and the selected package's incoming capabilities and terms.
