Receive a verification code without sharing your everyday number.
Understand private-number verification, temporary numbers, rejected codes and account recovery. Choose one-time codes only when a temporary attempt fits.
How can I verify without giving my personal number?
First check the service’s allowed verification methods. If it accepts temporary numbers and you only need a single attempt, a one-time code may fit. In DualLine, choose the service and country, review the quoted price and conditions, then use the assigned temporary number for that attempt. This does not guarantee the service will accept it.
Does this make me anonymous?
No. Keeping your everyday number out of a form is different from anonymity. The service and your account may still have identifying information.
What if the service offers email or a passkey?
Use an allowed method that you can reliably maintain. A temporary number is not necessary when an appropriate alternative already meets the need.
I only need one SMS code. Do I need a subscription?
A code attempt and a second-line subscription serve different needs. DualLine’s one-time-code product supplies a temporary receive-only number for one attempt and is priced for the selected service and country. It is not a personal inbox you keep, and it does not include travel data or ordinary two-way messaging.
Can I send messages from it?
No. The code product is receive-only for the selected attempt. For personal conversations, compare the capabilities of a dedicated second line.
Is the price always the same?
No. Review the actual quote after selecting both service and country; a line subscription price is not a code price.
Is a public SMS inbox a good place for my code?
A publicly visible inbox is a poor fit for a code that grants account access. Before using any service, check who can see the message, how the number is allocated and how long access lasts. A private delivery screen still does not turn a temporary number into permanent ownership or a reliable recovery method.
Should I share the code with support?
Describe the error and provide the order reference. Do not include an active sign-in code or password in a public message.
Could someone use the number later?
Temporary numbers are not yours permanently. Do not base long-term access on later reuse or on receiving another code at the same number.
Why is my verification number or code rejected?
The receiving service decides which numbers and attempts it accepts. A listed country or service is not a guarantee. Check the selected service, country, exact number and the attempt’s current state. If the code does not arrive or the service rejects it, follow the in-app outcome and support path instead of assuming another purchase will work.
Can you guarantee a bank or WhatsApp code?
No. Neither a one-time number nor a dedicated second line guarantees acceptance by WhatsApp, banks or payment services.
Should I keep retrying immediately?
Check the existing attempt and the receiving service’s instructions first. Repeated purchases or requests can create confusion without resolving the rejection.
Can I use a temporary number for future account recovery?
Do not rely on a one-time number for an account you need to recover later. One successful code today does not guarantee access to that number tomorrow. Before using temporary verification, check whether the service permits a lasting recovery method you control, such as a recovery email or another supported sign-in method.
What if I already used a temporary number?
While signed in, review the service’s security and recovery settings. Follow its official recovery process if access is already lost.
Would a dedicated number solve every recovery problem?
No. Ongoing access depends on service acceptance, subscription and number availability. Maintain other supported recovery methods.
